  • Electricity is being used in our everyday life as it powers the lights, TV, microwave, computer, chargers, fridge, radio, hair drier and so much more
  • There are positive and negative charges, opposite charges attract each other and the same ones repel
  • When an electric charge builds up on the surface of an object it creates static electricity, this is when you experience a small shock
  • We cannot ever put our fingers or any object into the power point as it would lead into an burn and injury
  • Electricity plays role in the way our hearts beat-muscle cells in the heart are contracted by electricity going through the heart (you can see this in hospital where the screen shows regular spikes as heart beats
  • Lightning is a discharge of electricity in the atmosphere, they reach 30 000 Celsius degree
  • The gravity brings them down and they hit the closest high points or charged objects that’s why the building have lightning rods
  • An alternative to create electricity is called solar energy which is obtained from sunlight or wind energy generated in windmills
